An unusual “pink rainbow” was discovered in the west associated with England on Monday night time.
The phenomenon, seen within Bristol, Taunton, and Yate, has been described since an “optical illusion” simply by experts.
People who took pictures of it described it since “amazing” and “pretty” upon BBC Points West’s Fb page.
BBC Weather speaker Simon King said right now there was no specific title for the phenomenon, that was caused by a normal rainbow and also a pink sun happening simultaneously.
“We’ve obtained a regular rainbow, which usually is caused by drinking water droplets in the environment reflecting the sunlight directly into the spectrum various shades, ” he said.
“The other thing is really a pinkish sunset caused by sunshine having to pass by means of even more atmosphere – because of to the low sunlight angle late in the day – hence the shortwave colours – violets, blues, greens – are diminished and we only see the pinks and reds, giving the rainbow a pinkish colour. ”
